A hand-drawn line in white porcelain slip decorates the outside of the tall black mug, marking the dividing line between the glaze on the upper half of the tall cup and the lovely matt texture of the bottom half which has no glaze.

The tall mug has a fine round handle finished with a small button detail and is comfortable in your hand. The base is embossed with our logo and identifies the mug as an exclusive designer product, created by our small independent UK company. The prototypes of all our Ambit tableware collection of mugs, tumblers and cups are created by me, Sue, hand thrown on the potter’s wheel in my pottery studio. I make lots of different mugs in stoneware and in porcelain, modifying the product design - the shape, decoration, size, material and thickness - before deciding which is the perfect coffee or tea mug that I want to send to my manufacturer.

A mould will then be created from my handmade item in order to make the product in greater, though still limited, quantity. The size and shape of the tall black mug one that I find perfect for drinks that I want to stay warm longer. All our Ambit tableware products are delivered to you rapidly from our UK fulfilment centre.
